I have known Shirley for over 15 years - first as a former banking colleague, a banker that looked after the personal needs of my commercial banking clients, and later as the personal banker to myself and several members of my extended family.
Throughout this period Shirley has always treated everyone as a "person" (hard to believe when the industry sees us a "file", "relationship" or "opportunity") and, in my experience, has always has put my interests first. In one situation when I was looking for a mortgage with particular features, Shirley researched and discovered of a more suitable solution that was provided by an alternate location on a "test marketing basis" basis. She even called the marketing department involved, had me added as a early customer, and even facilitated a great deal on this mortgage regardless of the fact that it meant a reduction to her own portfolio and associated compensation.
